Hey guys,

I\'m new to this and I have followed your guide step by step on encoding a dvd to divx using divx5.1.1 pro and dvdx2.2 to back up my dvds. I have try twice and with all the settings that you have set and I always get a avi file that does not have any sound or picture. The file size is about what I inputted.

The dvd\'s main movie consists of four VOB files and I also chose the option of subtitle option in dvdx2.2. Could this be the problem, that divx5.1.1 does not allow subtitles? If so do you guys know how I could go around this and get a divx file with subtitles?

This is strange. Are you sure that DivX codec is installed correctly?

Try also FairUse Wizard. Guide here:

Yes, I have installed the codec properly. I have tried encoding a single VOB file that does not have subtitles and it works perfectly.

Going to try FairUse now, hope it works.
