Smiley Hi it\'s Eugene, again, regarding problem with my
Pioneer 104 firmware and maybe the ASPI layer.

I just found on the intertnet that there\'s a new
ForceASPI layer for Windows\'98 SE OS.  It\'s
Version 1.8 which is for Windows 95, 98 SE,
ME, NT and XP.

Most of you advised me ForceASPI v 1.7 and I
noticed that is only for Windows\'95 and NT.

:?:  Have any of you try ForceASPI v 1.8  :?:

If you have, let me know how that work for you.

If you do not have ForceASPI v 1.8, I would
be happey to upload it directly to you.
I forgot what website that I got it from, but
I did however saved the webpage that tells
about ForceASPI v 1.8 layer.  Smiley

Thanks,  Smiley

It\'s very new and I\'ll wait for their page to become available as now it has reached bandwidth limit. ForceASPI 1.7 WORKS with Win9x, which means it works with Win98SE.

Download an ASPI check from here to be sure that your ASPI installation works:
http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.jsp?filekey=aspichk.exe

Please do not send me an email again, I know you do it for good, but I check this forum more often than my email, so you do more trouble for nothing.

Oh, I didn\'t know that you\'re the only person who reads and
replise e-mails, than I thought different users reads them and
communicates with others.

Well, the reason why I was searching for ForceASPI for
Windows\'98 SE, is because when I did install ForceASPI
v 1.7, and then when I opened DVD Decrypter, it shows two
of the following LOG message about ASPI:

  :!:  14:13:09 DVD Decrypter Version 2.2.0 started
  :!:  14:13:09 Microsoft Windows 98 SE
  :!:  14:13:09 Installing ASPI
  :!:  14:13:09 WNASPI32.dll - Adaptic ASPI layer - ASPI for Win32
( 95/NT ) dll - Version 4.5.7.1008
:!:    14:13:09 Searching for ASPI devices
X - \"23:24:19 Reason: Msmatched ASPI components is detected\".

Is this normal that these messages shows on the DVD Decrypter
LOG with the ForceASPI v 1.7?

I\'m just concern when I spoted \"ASPI for Win32 95/NT\" in the
DVD Decrypter LOG,  it makes me think that ForceASPI v 1.7
role back Win\'98 SE to Win\'95 by launguage?

Thanks,
Eugene

Hi  Smiley

To respond your e-mail message regarding my ForceASPI v 1.8
and using DVD Decrypter with a LOG messsage that shows
that the \"ASPI components is detected\".

In your e-mail you said that I\'m using the old DVD Decrypter
and suggested to download the latest one.

To let you know that the DVD Decrypter I\'m using is the
latest, DVD Decrypter version 3.2.2.0 is the one that shows
the LOG message about the ASPI components is detected.
It wasn\'t like this before, maybe.

Until when I first use ForceASPI v 1.8 for Windows\'98 SE.
the LOG message shows it.

Hope that\'s clearly and understand.

Thanks,
Eugene

That\'s what I read.

So does v1.8 solve the problem? If not it\'s obvious it\'s not ASPI.

Hi,   Smiley

Okay, I have missed tyeed in my last post in message.

I re-checked again on the DVD Decrypter LOG message,
and it does shows \"DVD Decrypter 3.2.2.0 started\".

 :!: 14:13:09 DVD Decrypter Version 3.2.2.0 started
 :!: 14:13:09 Microsoft Windows 98 SE
 :!: 14:13:09 Installing ASPI
 :!: 14:13:09 WNASPI32.dll - Adaptic ASPI layer - ASPI for Win32
( 95/NT ) dll - Version 4.5.7.1008
:!: 14:13:09 Searching for ASPI devices
( X ) \"23:24:19 Reason: Msmatched ASPI components is detected\".

Now the above shows in the LOG message of DVD
Decrypter 3.2.2.0.

Sorry for miss-read or typo error.  So, I am using the current and
the latest version of DVD Decrypter version 3.2.2.0

Well, now what can you say and or suggestions?

I hope you understand me when I say this, but you repeat the same things all the time and this drives me crazy!

I told you to run KillASPI.bat first and then InstASPI.bat. Then download this and check your installation:

Hi

I did use aspichecker, it looked fine to me which it
stated that it\'s Windows\'98 SE

Here\'s what the aspichecker shows after I have used
KILLER.BAT and INSTALL.BAT.

Here\'s the result from aspichecker.

The aspichecker shows:

                             WINDOWS\'98          Time stamped: \"CREATION\"

Components:

APIXVXD        Version: 4.71.2 - 23115 bytes -  Friday May 14, 2004

WNAPSI32.dll  Version 4.5.7 ( 1008 ) - 48128 bytes -  Friday Feb. 2, 2001

Now you know what the aspichecker shows in my PC.

Thanks,
Eugene

Hi again, it Eugene from Seattle, Washington - U.S.A.

I FINALY FIXED IT!!  I just have to add the Adaptic ASPI v 1.8
to match with the ForceASPI v 1.8, also.

Now in the DVD Decrypter LOG message there\'s NO
\"ASPI components detected\".

I think it\'s working now.  Just hav to match both the original
ASPI and the ForceASPI, both with same version.

 Smiley
I think at this matter it\'s up and running :!:
So far there\'s NO \"ASPI detected\"

Thanks!!

I don\'t think no ASPI detected is good.

What does the Adaptec ASPI check program says?

Smiley Hi,  I said clearly that ASPI layers is fixed, and I said
that I don\'t see a message that says
\"ASPI components is detected\" anymore in the DVD
Decrypter LOG message.  That\'s good.

I got both Adaptic ASPI 4.71.2
and ForceASPI version 1.8 ( for Windows\'98, NT, 2000 and \"ME\".
installed that works together.

They\'re fine with DVD Decrypter.

Thanks,
 Smiley
