I have a question related to subtitles. I have run numerous encodes of \"The Missing\" while trying to learn FairUse, and I thought I understood how the subtitling worked, but I still can\'t seem to get what I want. The first try was to enable English subtitles, but with the \"forced subtitles only\" box checked. I got *all* subtitles, when what I expected was just the ones where someone is not speaking English (there are a few such scenes in the movie, and when I watch the DVD, I get just those by default).

So, I thought I needed to uncheck inclusion of subtitles. While the \"show forced\" is now greyed out, it is nonetheless still checked. No dice -- now I don\'t get any subtitles, including those scenes where someone is not speaking English.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there some quirk about this movie in particular?

OK, I think I figured this one out. There looks to be a minor bug in 0.44. If the preview window comes up with both \"Include Subpictures\" and \"Show forced subtitles only\" already selected, *all* subtitles get put into the AVI. However, if you uncheck and recheck \"Show forced subtitles only\", you get the expected results -- only the forced subtitles.
