Recently had a dvd movie on my hd that was 7.81 g (8,390meg) in size. Used level 10 in DVDShrink and was 9% over. Went ahead and tried shrinking and the final product was a 4.08 g (4,390meg) which I wrote to a dvd using nero. Does (1) Shrink use a safety factor or (2) what did I loose by writing to disc when Shrink said I was over. I guess my question is this percentage buisness which I do not understand-now for sure. Thank you

You are using a very old version of DVD Shrink. Use the new one (3.1.7 - get it at www.dvdshrink.org) which does not uses levels but sets the percentage in order to fit exactly the movie in the disc and get you the best quality!  Cheesy

I dont think that DVDS could be any easier actually.

If you dont want to mess with settings, it will set everything for you. However I almost always set the extras and menus compression down so that the movie is better.

I never used it before version 3.17, but I am betting you will love it more when you switch to that one!
