I\'m actually using on a machine the v. 0.42a and on the other the 0.42e (still thinking that 041.b was faster, but PCM audio support starts on 0.42) but I\'ve noticed that the resulting .avi are a little bit too dark and I must increase the brightness control on my monitor. There is any setting to change to have the rips a little bit brighter?

Thanks!

BTW your work is almost perfect, the best that I ever seen!
Ill\'be glad if you put on site some guidelines for the expert mode, some option are a little bit criptic, and some switch is too misterious to me.

Thanks for your efforts

You may want to have a look in the guide:

If you want to have a look at the XviD, DivX settings have a look in these ones:

I\'ve accurately read your guide but if you thick the expert mode there are some misterious options:

1) Internal codec
2) Vbr mp3
3) Use Lanczos resizer
4) (Ghost) Anamorphic mode
5) Rotate 90°

1) I wish to know the difference to use Internal vs External, I\'ve bought Divx Pro some months ago and I\'m pleased to use it. The internal codec aren\'t pro version (for divx) is that true?
2) Vbr mp3 I think that it must be out of the expert mode. Audio stuff is different from video.
3) I have no idea of the function of this
4) It works? No chance to activate it...
5) The use of this... it must be funny.

Thanks again

1. The internal codec is the free edition. You should install you commercial version and uncheck the \"use internal divx\" option

3. Quote from the AviSynth doc :
\"LanczosResize is an alternative to BicubicResize (...) which produces quite strong sharpening. It usually offers better quality (fewer artifacts) and a sharp image.

Lanczos was created for AviSynth because it retained so much details (...). As you might know, the more detail a frame has, the more diffiult it is to compress it. This means that Lanczos is NOT suited for low bitrate video, the various Bicubic flavours are much better for this. If however you have enough bitrate then using Lanczos will give you a better picture, but in general I do not recommend using it for 1 CD rips because the bitrate is usually too low (there are exceptions of course).\"

4. This option is only enabled on anamorphic DVD. It encodes to full anamorphic res, which is absolutely useless, until you watch your movies on a 16/9 TV set.

5. This option was added to encode movies for movies that will be played back on  PocketPC/Palm screens.

Perfect!!! BTW Lanczos Resize is useful with bitrate >1000 or more, but the speed penalization is too big (how much? 30% 40%... who knows). 16/9 tv set if I won the lottery I must buy it!!!

Thanks again
