I read the guide and it does not explain what this newer feature is.  What does it do?

1. it does correct the aspect ratio so that the picture doesn\'t look vertically crushed on a TV screen (but it will look slightly stretched on a PC monitor).

2. it corrects the luma range to follow the TV specs.
