thx technicsplayer for ur time!
i opened ac3 delay corrector and imported in source VTS_01_1 AC3 T01 2_0ch 256Kbps DELAY -211ms.ac3
it shows me this in info:
Source file information:

Sampling rate: 48 kHz
Nominal bit rate: 256 kbps
Framelength: 0x0400
Length: 50096frames (00:26:43,072)
WARNING> Filelength is not OK.
WARNING> Possible corrupted file or
WARNING> last frame is too short.
There are 31.25 frames in one second.

start delay: -211
status: pending...

since i never used this prg...i clicked on \'write\"
it gave me this:

Source file information:

Sampling rate: 48 kHz
Nominal bit rate: 256 kbps
Framelength: 0x0400
Length: 50096frames (00:26:43,072)
WARNING> Filelength is not OK.
WARNING> Possible corrupted file or
WARNING> last frame is too short.
There are 31.25 frames in one second.
211ms (00:00:00,224) ms to be cut at beginning.

Target file information:

7 frames (224ms) have been cut at start.
50089 frames (00:26:42,848) have been written.
Last frame was too short. Ignored.
There are 31.25 frames in one second.

is that okay?
(i didnt change the -211)
not sure what i\'m doing...:/
(also should the target file can be in the same folder as source..?)
note: i tried to test this file with TMPEng author but it couldn\'t find the .IFO
my question: how then i should proceed? where i put the new ac3? in the folder called mix dvd (the one i mixed several titles from different movies with dvdshrink) ?
thx for helping me,

that\'s right you now have the new file from the ac3 delay corrector.

now read my previous post, follow the guide for tmpgenc author, load your vobs into tmpgenc, get to the source setup, press edit for the movie to get to the edit clip/clip information screen. It shows video and audio  source paths. The video is filled in from the vobs. Fill the audio in with the *.ac3 file that came from the delay corrector. Then carry on with authoring normally.

oh okay!
i browsed for the new ac3 and i could fill it in TMPGEnc dvd author.
i have this now:
VTS_01_1.ac3
Dolby Digital (AC-3), 48000 Hz Stereo, 256 Kbps
stereo (2channel)

my question before i proceed for authoring and burning...
i want to know about the sync thing...is that \'new ac3\' will be okay with the title? will it play in sync?
i just to want to make sure before burning another dvd..(have only 2 dvds left..)
thx for answering,

I\'ve tried to describe it in every answer...
if you get to step 3 in the tmpgenc guide you have a screen called clip information, this screen lists the source files for video and audio. leave the video and change the audio to the path of your new ac3 file and carry on with the guide.

thx technicsplayer Smiley
I worked fine for the sound Wink

Just a little detail..Smiley i\'m having prb with menu this time...(oh no! not again..Smiley dont worry, i\'m sure u know the answer;)

I already burned 3 dvds and still didnt find the right action for my menu..
here what i want to do:
.I have 6 titles.
.it will be 6 squares in menu.
.this menu will play as soon as i play the movie
.when i click on 1 square, it will play the chapter.
.when the chapter plays, i want to be able to jump to another chapter if i want...
(until now, it only plays 1 chapter..and if i need to go to another chapter, i have to go back to menu to choose another chapter...:/ )

what action is appropriate for my movie?

thx for answering,

p.s: i swear i will vote for you for the next election! Wink

well done! at least you have dvd with sound AND menu now  Smiley

for 6 movies you need to make 6 folders with 6 sets of vobs and do ac3 extraction and conversion 6 times for each movie in each folder.

then in the source setup load the 6 titles so you have 6 tracks in the left hand pane - follow the guide. Put the correct audio in each of the 6 titles as you load them in.

then in the create menu, go to  menu display settings and select \"main menu and track menu\" and also first play action \"display main menu\".

Now select a suitable template for the main menu (6 selections) and a suitable template for each track menu (however many chapters each movie has)

this is how I make a dvd with 4, 6 or 8 tv programs to select.

yep i did all that:)

the thing is the action menu. I tried exactly 3 times to make a menu but i cant figure out how to do what i want (3 dvds lost..)

here\'s what i ended up each time i inserted the dvd to play:
action taken:
first action: display main menu
in menu display settings: main menu and track menu
action to take after each track has been played: play next track

. the 1 track first plays it\'s chapter.
. then i have to click on return to get the menu :/
. then each time i click on 1 track...it plays its chapter.
. when a chapter plays, i can\'t forward to another chapter therefore i need to press on menu to choose another chapter...:/

Now this is what i want:

. my 6 movies plays in menu when dvd is inserted.
. I want to click on the yellow rollover button and the track plays.
. and finally i want to be able to jump onto another chapter if i want when i watch a chapter.

How can i fix this problem? what action? how to be able to jump from 1 chapter to another?

thx for answering,

I don\'t know  Sad

it sounds like maybe you are mixing up tracks and chapters?

if you have 6 programs, then you need 6 input files for each of 6 tracks.

if you press edit in each of the tracks in the source setup page you can check the chapters in each track. When I rip a dvd with several programs the chapters are already set in each program (track) or I add/delete my own. It then works...

for experimentation save your tmpgenc output to your hard drive. Put a folder in the root of the drive \"movie name\". inside that folder put a folder \"VIDEO_TS\" with the tmpgenc output.
then you can check the output in windvd or power dvd software player etc without having to burn a dvd.
Or buy a re-writable  Smiley

yeah great idea! so simple i didnt think of that..Smiley
i will use a folder+dvd rw

i am indeed confused about chapters vs tracks..

in each track, there is one prg.
now, when i edit, there is only 1 chapter created by default.
i know i can add chapters from frame...but i thought i will be able to move from chapter to another only inside this same track. But what if i want to change from 1 tack to another?

still confused...but i\'m gonna make tried with a folder/dvd rw and see then
thx for ur good advice;)

ok then you have 6 tracks but only 1 chapter in each track? forget about a chapter menu page, just have a main menu with each movie track... set the menu display setting to \"main menu only\".

if you want chapters in each movie then you make them in the edit stage, put them in the menu and you can skip from one chapter to the next within each movie and you can set the action you want after each track - either go back to main menu to select another track or play the  next track automatically. If you set to play next track then you should be able to skip through all tracks (and/or chapters if you have made them) for the length of the whole dvd.

the last menu setting on the general tab is \"action to be taken after eack track has been played\" here you can set the option you might be after eg \"play next track automatically\" then the forward skip will play the next track.

ok i tried what you said and it didnt work for the forwarding...

menu seems okay.
it played right away. fine
no chapters. fine
but i couldnt jump from 1 track to another..

here is the setup i did:

firstplay action: display main menu
in menu display settings tab:
  . only main menu
action to take after each track has been played:
  . play next track

i dunno what to do more...
i edit one track. i have only 1 chapter (by default). I dont need chapters to play anyway...so no need to add chapters...or maybe i need to add chapters...but it doesnt make sens..cuz i just want to forward to the next track..:/
what\'s wrong with the forward button...:/

hmm... strange  :?

I just checked one of my compilations in a standalone player. Disk had 4 programs , each program with 8 chapters. When I get to chapter 8 of any track and press skip it goes straight to chapter 1 of the next track so it does work.

I don\'t know what else to suggest... look though the version history of tmpgenc to see if there was a bug fix for this behaviour in a newer version??
