yeah strange..:/
I tried it again on my disk...and it plays the menu fine once the dvd is inserted..but when i play a track and i press on the forward button..it doesn,t take me to the next track:(
I dont have a stand alone player so therefore i cant see how it will play..
but i guess standalone player is same than my pc dvd...right?

I noticed that on each of my 6 tacks, it was written chapter 1. Could be that the prb...?

thx for answering,

yep, there will be no difference between a standalone player and a software player if everything is working ok.

I don\'t have any tracks with only 1 chapter per track so cannot replicate your conditions. My dvds have several chapters in each track and like I said before the last chapter of a track skips to the first chapter of the next track automatically

it is 2.35am..
I made several attempts...but so far nothing good Sad
I tried many times to make the menu. I always ended up with a dvd playing the sound of one track..with no image. Then i click on menu..and menu shows up. i can click on each of the 6 tracks in the menu. It will play all fine except i can\'t forward to the next chapter or come back to the previous one...Sad( what;s wrong with my dvd?
I tried several times to change actions etc... but i still can\'t get a dvd playing menu first, then i can forward to the next scene while i am watching a scene.

i have made all my attemps that way:
6 tracks=6 titles.
in each title, there is no chapter. Only the first one by default. (i tried to add chapters to see the difference...but still same result in the end..)
i have read somewhere that i need to insert chapter points to allow me to forward to the next track. (or chapter..)
I dont know exactly how you do that..
That might be my prb. I can\'t figure out how to specify to this prg \"how to jump to another track while i am watching a track\". Also, i dont know why the dvd always plays black image with sound of first track only...(i need to click on menu to display it...:/ )
Please help if you know how to make this kind of menu properly..
thx for helping,
regards,

yep still another day with no solution to my prb..Sad
i tried to add video files in same track but again nothing...:/
after clicking on \"add video files\" title 2 couldn\'t be added. I got an error message saying this: TMPGEnc dvd author has encountered a fatal error wich it cannot ignore.

. Audio existence differs from the present track.

The existence of audio differs from the present track.
the existence of audio has to be standardized on the track

There is audio on the present track.

(i only can cancel this message. ignore button is in grey and cannot be used)

i have 6 titles and 6 AC3 recode with ac3 delay corrector cuz the \'add files video\" couln\'t recognize the first time the titles with their own sound.
now sound prb is fixed.

note: the 6AC3 files are in another folder than the 6 titles.

what should i do?:/

the only thing I can think of is that you maybe should have more than 1 chapter per track.

enter your 6 tracks with 6 soundtracks in source setup, choose each in turn and click the edit function.

go to chapter cut edit and put another chapter in each of the 6 tracks so they have at least 2 chapters each. Just scroll the bar to the middle of the track, click add, and enter the frame number for the new chapter point, then ok out.

make a menu with track menu and chapter menu, choosing skip to next track as before in the menu dispaly settings. That is what works for me.

i have 6 titles.
i have 6 AC3 (recoded with AC3 delay corrector for these titles)
i want a menu that will play right when i insert the DVD.
i want to be able to change to play a title and be able to forward to another title when needed...

I tried to solve my prb by making menu with 6 tracks.
each track has 1 title.
menu didnt work fine. i couldnt skip 1 title to another with forward button..

I then tried to make differently the dvd.
by adding all my video files in same track.
When i wanted to add the second title...the prg refused it. Cuz of different sound format apparently..

sorry english is not my first language..i try my best.
Let me know if u need more details. I am waiting for ur suggestion.
Thx for helping,

If you use tracks you CANNOT move between them using the forward button (this is based in the DVD specs).

What you cannot do is to demux all the audio and then encode it again with a program like BeSweet, so that the sound format is the same.

well, that\'s what I\'ve been saying then, make the tracks with more than 1 chapter and then you can skip to the next track from the previous chapter of the previous track, and the end of one track can automatically start playing the next track...

ok here what i did:

i added in each track : 1 chapter (add curent frame to chapter)
I have choosen the last frame from each title and added it.
question: when i click in \'add\' under the chapter list, i have the \'add chapter\' window opening.
what should be the setup there?
it is on: automatically insert chapters with the selected interval\" 15 minutes

is that correct?

Just click add and then select \"Add chapter at specified timecode\" and click OK.

I can\'t imagine a reason why it should work this way, as I have done it hundrends of times...

you may be causing the problem by making the chapter point the last frame in the track, try a chapter point in the middle of the track,
then in the \"create menu\" section
click the \"menu display settings\" and then in
\"action to be taken after each track has been played\" select
\"play next track\"
like I explained several posts ago  Smiley
