Hello,

Well i finally managed to produce my first AVI using DVDx, thanks to afonic!!
Only one problem, it took about 22 hours (??!!).

My video is 3h40min long, i used the Xvid codecs. I used the exact same configuration as in the tutorial.
My system is an Athlon XP 1800+, 512Mo, GeForce FX5200.

So is this normal? If not, what is wrong??

Thanks a lot!!

Hi,
With the configuration I show in the guide, with my Athlon 2800+ it takes about 12 hours for such a long video. 22hours seems really big to me, do you have any other performance problems with your PC?

Well, the thing is that i used to use another program to ripp dvd\'s. And i\'ve tried it to ripp the video i\'ve just done. And it took less than 7 hours.
The differnce is that i was using a different codec, it was Divx 5.05.

Now i know Xvid is slower, but 22 hours is damn long. I think the \"crashed\" stage (between the two passes and when we mustn\'t kill the app) lasted way too long.... several hours....

It can be my machine, i don\'t really push it hard, i\'m not a heavy gamer, i don\'t do crazy stuff....So i\'m gonna try with different codecs (Dvix 5.05) and see what happens.

Thanks anyway!
