Hello. I couldn\'t find a good place to put this post so I\'m putting it here. I hope it\'s ok!  :?  Is there a program that can add miscellaneous clips besides the movie to a DVD? For instance, small clips such as trailers, etc. I want to make a still menu with some small pictures where you click on the picture and the clip plays. So, sort of like what the professional DVDs do with trailers. Also, the trailers I downloaded are in standard VCD format. They are 352x240, 29.97fps, etc. Any help is appreciated!

Hey,

have a look at the VCD To DVD Guide and the DVD X Maker guide, you can find both of them at www.dvd-guides.com

After reading the guides, I have some questions. I see there are several wizards in DVD X Maker. What are the differences between the Business and the Hollywood one? Can there be selectable subtitles that can be activated using a still menu OR by the remote? I posted my sub problems in the Subtitles topic yesterday.

Also, for the trailers, where is it added if I click on \"Add Special Features\"? I would not want them to play like the overtures. Is there a still menu that can access each trailer like how a chapter menu activates each chapter?

Hi,

well yes you should add trailers using Add Special features. Unfortunately DVD X Maker and other authoring programs do not support subtitles. The only program that will allow you to do this is the freeware tool IFOEdit (from the ones I know.

As for the wizards, the Hollywood just adds some more options, I suggest you use the program the way I show in the guide that you can use all it\'s features.

That\'s what I don\'t get. Should I should both DVD X Maker and IFOedit?  Sad I want selectable subs (IFOedit) and yet I want some still menus and trailers (DVD X Maker). What should I do?

I suggest you try IFOEdit and see if it can fit you for both needs.

Note that if you have a DVD that has already subtitles DVDXMaker will display them, it just cannot add new subtitles.

Have a look. at www.dvdrhelp.com for guides and to download IFOEdit.

Someone said on another forum that IFOedit will only have a movie that plays automatically when you insert the disk, subtitles that you can control using the remote, chapters by remote, etc. Not sure how trailers would fit in there though.

Also, what kind of file (as in extension) are DVD menus in? And subtitles?

IFOEdit is more difficult than DVD X Maker. Generally subtitles are hard to add, the best way I can think is that you create the disc with the trailers etc and then add the subtitles using IFOEdit, the way you can find in www.dvd-guides.com.
