I have a Canon ZR70 camcorder, and have been filming events that are over an hour long.  Using Roxio (for lack of knowing what better programs to use), it fits mpgs to disc using lowest possible quality.

Can anyone help me in what programs to use to compress the mpgs I create without losing mass quality, and what to best burn them with?

Thanks.

PS.  I found an article about 6 months ago that told step by step and worked well but I haven\'t been able to find it again, so any help would be appreciated![/b]

I need to know one thing. You need to put the two mpgs in a DVD just like that and play them from your PC or create DVD files from them to play in your standalone. This is because you need to follow different way if the source file is an mpg or a DVD.

Also if you found an article in this site, in http://www.dvd-guides.com/ you can find all of them.

I\'m trying to make DVDs for standalone players.  The articles I\'ve found haven\'t helped me yet because they seem to refer more to compressing material already in DVD format, but I need to compress the mpgs to make a high (or at least good) quality DVD from it that I can watch in a standard DVD player.

Thanks for the reply.

Use this guide to create a DVD MPEG2 file:

http://www.dvd-guides.com/guides.php?category=othertodvd&name=tmpegenc

And then this one to create the DVD files and burn:
