I have V5.7 of Win Avi and am trying to convert a 1.3 GB QuickTime file of Johnny English into a more maleable file like an AVI.  Unfortunately it sucks at doing that apparently so I followed the DVD making guide here but after following it and telling it to convert, the aspect ratio remains wrong no matter what I try.

It cuts off half the screen obviously ruining the film entirely but I can\'t see how to fix this since I\'fe already tried setting different ratios (Im fairly sure the film itself is 16:9 because its fairly wide and short video image.  The preview window itself though is square which is why its losing much of the image.

ANy advice?

Try to set the resolution yourself, tell me conversion you try to do, to give you some tips.
