Ok first and foremost I\'ve already created a mini VOB movie with Nero Vision Express and have added this as \"Track 1\" in TMPGEnc DVD Author and then added my movie as \"Track 2\" I then wait a *yawn* very long time for all the unecessary encoding to be done and give me my complete dvd.

I\'d very much like to edit the original movie IFO\'s (if possible) and reference my \"splash screen\" VOB to be played before the movie, thus saving any foolish TMPGenc DVD Author encoding. I recently spied a document explaining how to remove such splash screens so I\'m presuming a similar reverse-engineering approach could be adopted.

Problem is I have no VOB IFO knowledge Smiley I\'m just relying on the various tools available to perform my needed tasks.

If I knew what needed to be edited and how, I\'d begin to code a patch type tool to insert a VOB of choice into the DVD structure and release the tool as freeware. Cheesy

Any help would be appreciated

There are some freeware tools like IfoEdit that you could have a look and will let you to set which VOB files to be played.

Basically the better way to add a splash screen in DVD X Maker which actually has this options:

There are other free apps, but most of them are pretty buggy in the moment, so I will not suggest them.

This depends on how the authoring process was finalized .

1: as part of main title , at start .

This can be undone using vobedit to demux via cell id , then rebuilt .

2: if seperate vob .

Then pgcedit is the fastest method to either removing it or replacing it with another . To replace it , you only need to use ifoedit to create the vobs and ifo from replacement video using the author dvd feature .

If its a seperate vob , then pgcedit can replace it with the new file , simply locate the title , left click to highlight it , then right click it to get a popup menu , choosing blank out option should pop open a new menu allowing you to chose to replace it with another . Save dvd when done and its fixed .

Just watch out for commands that may be linked to it , if lucky you shouldnt need to edit them , but sometimes you do , just play test it before editing any commands to see if it works ok first .
