Tmpgenc locks up when starting to convert avi files

Everything goes smoothly until i start the conversion process, then tmpgenc looks at ist frame then locks up(stops responding), avi files play fine with various players, i have gone through theoptions environment setting as suggested in the forum, but to know avail. It has worked, but just suddenly stopped, i have tried reinstalling but to no avail

Maybe you tried installing / unistalling some codecs?
Have you tried some of the AVIs that worked before?

Have tried avi\'s that worked before, no luck
I was messing about with codecs to get mkv files to run this may be the answer, thanks

Maybe codecs is your problem.

Try also this:

If TMPGEnc freezes or crashes when converting or you receive errors such as
Unexpected decimal point calculation
Illegal floating decimal point calculation order
Write error occured at address 77F83AED of module \"ntdlll.dll\"
Try first to change the directshow codec reader priority settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->FAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 2 or to the top of the plugin-list and try reopen the video.
If that doesn\'t help try repair/fix the video source, you find video repair/fix guides here (Downloaded video files could have bad/corrupt video frames that could cause crashes).
