I created a dvd from a vcd for the first time using TMPGEnc and TMPGEnc Author, and of course the great guides I found around here.  It plays on my computer but not on my Sony home Dvd player or my portable which usually plays anything. The Sony had an error that said \"playback prohibited by area limitations\". If anybody has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Hmmm

Things i can think of:

1) Perhaps your DVD player doesnt accept region free DVDs (unlikely but 1 possibility).
2) Most likely your VCD to DVD was created in PAL and perhaps the DVD player cannot play PAL DVDs, only NTSC..

Things you can do:
1) Test it out on another DVD Player.. to determine that the DVD player is the culprit.
2) Convert the DVD into a NTSC video format one.
