Holy smokes Batman!!!!
You know......I can see both sides of this fight> I personally backup and for good reasons ( I have 3 Kids) Just the other day i went to watch a movie (Star wars) and about 1 hr into it the movie stoped (Froze) and to my astonishment when i took it out to see what was wrong it was chip/scatched. This has happened on many ocasions (Of course not one of my boys did it..LOL) and i don\'t even dear go into the psx or ps2 end of it. I remember when i got win98..a few weeks after it came out. opened the box and the cd was in it\'s own little cardboared holder with a piece of tape over the top , stoping the disc from slipping out. I proceeded to pull the tape....snap and out flew the cd hitting the ground and breaking into 3 pieces. Luckly the store was simpithatic and gave me a new one...but my point is maybe they should come up with something not so delicate to being damaged.
Oh and lets not forget all those 8mm tapes i have of my 3 boys growing up that i am just now transfering over to dvd. Man what a ton of space i will save but is a lot of work and very time consuming.
I do how ever see the prob on the other side with the motion picture co. But for them to say we are all just using the software for pirating is hog wash.
I don\'t live in a palace where my music, dvd, and games site on a self lookin pretty. I have even seen cd\'rs degrade making then useless.
Like i said maybe they should come up with a better way, somthing not so delicate to damage than a cdrom. That would be a place to start. In my opinioun.
