Hi folks,

I just donated and obtained a copy of Fairuse. This looks like great software!  When I run through the wizard, I get all the way to the end of the first pass and then get an error something like this:  \"Stats file mssing\". It then crashes back to an earlier screen of the software. Very frustrating as at least 1 hour of work is gone. I can\'t get beyond this error point, even after several tries.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I solved the \"missing Stats file\" error - well, didn\'t solve it, just tried uninstalling and re-installing FU and it worked. No more error.

BUT, now another problem. After going through the full cycle and creating an XVID avi from a DVD, the video \"jitters\". The sound is perfect, but the video, while in synch with the sound, jitters. It seems as if every group of 10 frames (in a second) is repeated, causing this \"jitter\" in the video.

Anyone know how to solve this one?

Thanks!

This is likely a playback issue. What\'s your config please ?

Hi,

I have no problem playing XVID codec material encoded by others. Just ones I encode. DIVX encoded stuff using FU comes out perfectly. Just XVID, which has \"jitters\" (though sound is perfect) in the final output.

I am running FU Wizard 0.9.3 on a Athlon 64 512mb RAM XP Pro. system.

Are there different versions of xvid out there? Might I be using an old one or something?

Thanks!

You might be using an outdated decoder. You should try to get the latest ffdshow release.

I think I have found the jitter problem, in case anyone runs into it, here is what I found out:

I was running a burn off a FAT32 formated SATA drive. I don\'t get XVID video jitters when I run a burn off of an NTSF non-SATA drive. Could be either the file system or the SATA drive.

Try running on a non-SATA drive and not FAT32 if you get video jitters when trying to burn an XVID encoded file.
