I have a few Xvid/DivX files bout 700Mb, is there a way of burning these to a normal CD, hence no need to convert them to DvD, so that I can play them on my DvD Player.

I know there is probally a easy way, just aint got a clue!

Keep fighting the good fight people!

Well for DIVX i think you can get a DIVX standalone player. Some DIVX models play DVDs too.. but for a normal DVD player, there aint a way to play DIVX/XVID without conversion

Other way is to connect your pc out to your TV.

I been to bestbuy before and talked to them about the DivX DVD Plyers. Sounds good, but dont aways work. And if DivX releases a new DivX codec :pinch: Expecive too.

You aways can convert them to VCD, and play them on your dvd player. Thats what I do. Converting anime to dvd it not going to make the rez better, just take longer to do. So a 30min conver, then pop on a cd. All done. I bought a VCD/SVCD DVD player for like $40.00

Hmmm

Is that true tank? I thought any DIVX AVI playback is possible on those players.. No one to ask  as they dont sell them here...

Well if that is the case, getting a tv output AGP graphics card will be the best choice.. No problems about conversion/ Xvid||DIVX playback is possible.

Well DivX codec works OK for all the \"DivX Certified\" players, and the compatibility with next version is guaranteed.

But the truth is that some advanced codec options may not be supported, so you got to be careful how to put the settings before you encode. XviD works in most of these players, but definately not all of them.

I believe they are cool, as you play both DVD and DivX so you can just rip all your movies and put them in DVDs, and enjoy very similar quality!
