I\'m able to set everything up, but when I go to actually convert the DVD I get this message:

The DVD could not be converted.
>>> Could not load codec settings.

It only happens when I\'m trying to convert as Xvid... DivX seems to be working correctly.  I have no clue how to fix it.  Any suggestions?

I am getting the same message. Could not load the Codec settings. I am using 1.0 LE. I would like to buy the full version if this works. I am trying to put a DVD movie on my Pocket PC.  I used DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter and put the movie on my hard drive. I am very new to this, I don\'t even know what codecs are.  What codecs do I need.  I have Nero 6 ultra edition installed but I have not used it yet. Does this have the codecs I need?  please help.

The previous poster confirmed one solution.

Have you heard of Google? If you\'re going to use Xvid you should find its homepage and read-up on it.

Hi,

well it is sad that you feel this way about this board/forums. Remember this is a free forum, where members and mods spend their free time helping out other users.

THe solution is already given to you for you to try but if you wish to be spoon-fed all the way then it will be impossible to help you at all.

Funny that\'s what *I* was thinking.

I mean, helpanoob your answer is \"download the Xvid binary and install it\" which is what akadragon said he/she did to fix the problem. How much easier do you want it? You want a link, too?

For the record, Xvid is an open-source video codec that FairUse employs to do its encoding. It also DECODES the files that FU produces, so you need it to play your Xvid-encoded avi files back again.

Download the binary and install it.
