Hello,

Right time for another question, i am learning though   Cool

I have 1 moive and its split up into 2 parts, each part is 700Mb each.

I want to join them together and burn it to 1 DVD-R and play in my home DVD player.

I used VirtualDub to check the file information for both parts and its 640x272, 23.976fps and says the decompressor is XviD MPEG-4 codec

So how do i go about joining them together ? encoding them to MPEG 2 ?then burning to a DVD-R for viewing ?

Cheers

Join the AVI files before you convert to MPEG2.
Have a look here:

Right i seem to have worked it out  Cheesy

After step 5 i pressed F7 and it asked to save it, it did something for a few minutes and now have 1 full movie.

Now i need to encode it to MPEG 2.

Now the moive is joined together it is 1.36 GB\'s   when i encode to MPEG 2 its gonna get even bigger right ?

How am i gonna fit it on a DVD-R when its encoded ?

Cheers

Well have a look at the guide and you are going to see that you are selecting the right bitrate just to fill a DVD-R.

Looks to me that the file contains AC3 audio, you need to read the Afonic guides on how to deal with AC3
