Yesturday i suceeded in re-encoding 2 vcd\'s into DVD format and merged them togeather as well burn them to DVD+R all with using nero6.
While merging them, nero allowed me to create a menu...thus allowing the viewer to select which movie they wanted to watch. Worked perfect.

This is where i got lost / confused?Huh

Today i tried to merged 2 full dvds\'s onto 1 dvd9 using all the same selections as i did yesterday with the exception of only changing the output to dvd9 instead of dvd+r.
But this time it nero6 did not give me the option of creating a main menu to select which of the 2 movies i wanted to watch. I could not even find a selection for it, (weired). I could only find in the help menus of nero creating menus for vcd\'s and nothing for dvds.
My question is....has nero already predefined a main menu between the 2 movies and why would it not let me create them so that i could properly name the 2 movies?Huh?

Now i have also research a few other dvd editing PG\'s but got some what confused. All i would like to do is create a main menu so that when the dvd first starts up a can select which movie i would like to view. Can anyone help me?
Many thanks,

Weird. You mean Nero gives you the option of creating a menu when authoring a DVD-5 but not when authoring a DVD-9?

This sounds like some kind of bug. Do you have the latest version?

Ya i thought that was weired too. It\'s a simple menu...but thats all i needed...just to be able to choose which movie i wanted to watch. I do have the latest nero reloaded.

LOL but sometimes i get to far ahead of myself.......little did i know i can not purchase DVD9\'s at my local pc stores (just threw the internet) thus i will have to wait till they become more popular to the consumer.
This whole dvd thing is still very new to me do to that i have been away for a very, very long time with the militay and now i\'m trying to get back into what i started before i had to leave.

Thanks very much for your help and this site is awsome.

Hi,

thanks for your good words!

Yes, DVD9 is supported by most new burners in the market, but the software support is not that good, plus the discs are very expesive and hard to find.

I\'ll wait a little more time before I start using them!  Wink
