Dear Afonic,
When I insert these still image (titles, table of contents, etc) files from the \"SEGMENT\" folder of a VCD directly into a DVD authoring project, they would \"flash\" by in fragments of a second (WAY TOO BRIEF!) instead of holding for a few seconds like they will when played as a VCD in a DVD player.  I\'ve tried to encode them using TMPGEnc, but so far have either found the DAT source unacceptable not MPEG file) or not had any success in defining a duration for the stills (with or without attaching an audio file).  Is there anyway to integrate them smoothly into the DVD project with the other transcoded MPEG files?  Thanks.

Use a third party presentation software such as a slide show creator.  There are tons of them around and many are freeware.  It will create a VCD/SVCD mpeg with delays which you can then dump or join into your DVD.  I used to have a really nice one called PixPlay.  It\'s freeware I think.

I made a nice Lord of the Rings music CD with VCD slideshow of photos from the movie.  Came out good.

Thanks so much for your suggestion.  However, after dwonloading the TMPGEnc Plus, the problem was solved.  As opposed to the non \"Plus\" version, it accepts the DAT still image files from the SEGMENT folder and encodes them with M2V format in the opening window.  I just tried marryintg the source DAT file with a 48KHz-transcoded audio file of a certain duration (say 5 seconds) to create the new M2V file of sustained still image.  Then I used the MPEG Tools/Merge & Cut to transcode the M2V file into MPG which then bacame freely importable in the movie project in NeroVision Express.  To tell you the truth, I don\'t know the difference between M1V and M2V, only that if you don\'t join the source DAT file with an audio file, you get an M1V lasting fragment of a second, otherwise you get am M2V lasting 5 seconds even detached from music.  But the M2V is already importable in NeroVision, so I don\'t know if reencoding it with MPG is necessary or not.  Please correct me if I was wrong in any of these steps, although the end result all came out OK.  Thanks again!
