Warner's proprietary disc technology that burns an HD DVD video on one side and Blu-ray on the other, has been set aside until next year.
The "Total HD" format, originally planned for a debut by the end of 2007, would really only appeal to studios that are actively supporting both HD DVD and Blu-ray...

That short list is comprised mainly of Paramount and Warner Bros  "Our research shows that there is demand for each of those products," said Dan Miron, an executive at Warner.

However, by 2008, the HD format war could be in a completely different shape.  "There is no expiration date on the viability of this concept, so we’re not in a rush to do it," added Miron.
