Sometimes you need to rip your DVD
to the hard disk, because there is a protection you want to bypass for some
reason, or because you are facing problem with using the DVD with DVD Shrink,
DVDx or other program. Well a very good way of doing this job is SmartRipper!

Been awhile since the question was asked, but...
Make sure you have a dvd in the drive before opening smartripper. Also make sure there is no cd in the cd drive if you have 2 drives. Open the dvd to the menu screen with a player and leave it open. This should be all you need to do to unlock the disc.
taking 4 hours to rip the dvd??
written by bjarvism, July 27, 2006
I have a 250 gig harddrive (2 gig of RAM) and most of it is free as I just got the system 2 days ago. I loaded smartripper, followed the above instructions and it's been ripping for 3 hours and it's at 54%. Why would it be taking this long to rip?

Mine says there is no ASPI layer. It then proceeds to rip it just fine.
